Psalm 24:3-6 & Psalm 22:30&31. "Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God his savior. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob." "Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord. They will proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn- for he has done it."
In the first verse, we hear all of the blessings God will give to the generation that seek Him! If we are a generation that will put God ahead of us, and live for Him, then he will bless us and vindicate us. He will be our Savior and we will be his people! But, we need to start acting like His generation.
So many times I see myself slowly backing away from the things of God, and I ignore it for a while. I want to propose something to you all. Let's become responsible for ourselves in God's word and God's things. Let's be accountable to someone else who will remind us about our Bible reading, or worshipping, or Church going. In reading the Bible, we will learn more about God's character. In worshipping, we tell God what we love about Him and enter into His presence. In Church going, we need to not forsake the gathering of believers! Go to Church, get fed! Don't ignore the things of God! Become like the Psalmist says "A generation who seek HIM."
Now the second verse. It is a promise to the generation who does seek the Lord. It says our children will serve God also! It is also speaking to us about proclaiming God's righteousness to those who are unborn! Take God's word with you wherever you go.
Don't become an "underground Christian." Don't hide your faith! You live in a free country--start acting like it. There are so many places in the world where being a Christian means you have a death sentence! Stand for your faith wherever you go, and don't hide Christianity. When you do, you shame the Lord you live for.
Dear Lord,
Please help me to be the kind of person you would have me to be. Let me know your truth, and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Give me your wisdom in every situation that I face, so I can be a pleasing witness for you. Help our generation to live for you, and do incredible things in your name.
Amen
