Q: When I was younger, I was molested. Since then, I haven't lived a life that God would be pleased with. Can God ever forgive me?
A: First off, I think I'll let God Himself answer that:
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1-2
This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:22-24
But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. Ephesians 2:4-5
For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14
Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds, as shown by your evil behavior. But now He has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation... Colossians 1:21-22
You have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Colossians 2:9b-10
But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3: 13b-14
Okay, Camy here. Remember that God's favorite people are sinners. He not only takes them out of their sin, He allows them to do great things for Him.
Abraham was a liar and willingly gave his wife to sleep with another man. That's adultery no matter what your time period. But God allowed him to become the father of the Jews.
David committed adultery too, and murder besides. But God chose him as Israel's greatest king and allowed his son Jesus Christ to be descended from his line.
The list goes on and on. Peter denied Christ, John (the disciple Jesus loved) ran away with all the other disciples in Gethsemane, Jesus' mother tried to get Him to stop preaching because He was an embarrassment to her, Paul persecuted Christians.
God uses broken people, if we will come to Him for healing.
