Devotional: Let God Use You Where You Are by Rebecca Gomez

Suggested scripture reading – 1 Corinthians 7: 17-24

I remember walking down the hall of Monroe Jr. High when someone walked by me and said, “Hey, you’re the Bible kid!” I couldn’t deny it. Nor did I want to.

That was pretty much my reputation until I graduated. Sure, some people thought I was strange. They looked at me funny when I would use the word “jerk” in place of the more colorful terms used by my peers. They thought it odd that I went to church—and loved it—three times a week.

No, it wasn’t always easy to wear my faith out there for everyone to see. I suppose it’s not easy for anyone. But, God can do amazing things through you when you are simply living your faith. Who knows whom he will put in your path, how he will use you to touch someone who needs him?

I was able to lead several of my friends to Christ during my high school years. And God can use you too! All you have to do is be willing. You don’t have to wait for the next big missions trip, or until you get your degree at a Bible College. God can use you right now, right where you are. Will you let him?
