Real Life Q&A with Camy Tang

February 2005

Q: I'm such a screw-up. I can't do anything right. What hope do I have for anything, much less to ever be somebody for God?

A: God doesn't choose people because they can do something for Him. He doesn't need people to work for Him, He just opts to use them because He wants to.

God chooses people because He loves them. You chose God because you realized how much He loves you. Ultimately, that's the bottom line.

Your walk with Christ isn't how perfectly you do things or how well you live your day. It's absolute, complete trust in God despite how well or poorly you live your day.

If people didn't need God's grace and forgiveness, Christ wouldn't have had to suffer on the cross. So grab hold of that grace, take it for yourself. We all need it: "For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard." Romans 3:23 (NLT).

"You were His enemies, separated from Him by your evil thoughts and actions, yet now He has brought you back as His friends. He has done this through His death on the cross in His own human body. As a result, He has brought you into the very presence of God, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before Him without a single fault." Colossians 1:21-22 (NLT)

God loves you so much, He is guiding you and even using you for His purposes no matter what you do or how royally you screw up, as long as you keep your focus on HIM. Complete abandonment to God. Total submission to whatever He decides, total trust in His incredible supernatural power actively working in your life, even if you can't see it.

Paul understood this:

"I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection! But I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me to be. No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven." Philippians 3:12-14 (NLT)

Press on, Peeps. God is there with you. It really isn't as bad as you think it is.
