Summer Vacation Is Here At Last

So Go Have A Blast!

By Holly Abidi

Finally, summer's here! Now is the time to waste away those hot summer days doing what you love. At last you've got free time so you can go for a bike ride, swim, walk, even roll in the grass—you name it, you can do it. I’ve always loved summer vacation—who doesn’t? It's the best time of the year—and you know it. So, what are you reading this for? Don’t sit around getting bored, seize the summer and enjoy yourself.

Here are ten things you WILL do this summer:

1. Sleep a lot.

2. Eat junk food and hang out.

3. Stay up late.

4. Watch T.V.--and I mean a lot of T.V.--or go to the theatre and get big bucket of popcorn you throw around anyway.

5. Bug your parents. (Shame on you)

6. Drive your siblings insane.

7. Waste your hard earned free time doing nothing. Ah! School--what's that?

8. Relax, chill out, and sleep (Oh did I mention that already?)

9. Talk for hours on the phone to your friends.

10. Go hang out and joke around with your buddies, play some sports, or whatever right?

And here are ten summer boredom busters to keep you busy:

1. Bird watching. If you haven’t tried it, it can be interesting. Don't diss it till you've give it a shot. Plus, if you like hanging out at lakes, walking along rivers, or lazing on beaches these are great place to spot birds.

2. Hiking or camping can be an adventure for your family or a group of friends. Don’t forget the bug spray!

3. Visit a zoo. A zoo is a great place to sharpen your photography skills. Plus, digital cameras are both fun and affordable.

4. Staying inside for an evening? Why not chat it up? Going online and chatting can be entertaining.

5. Get your friends together for a video game tournament.

6. Go sight seeing. What better time is there to go explore some areas nearby?

7. Try arts and/or crafts.

8. Have your friends over for a sleepover. Stay up late doing each other’s hair and make-up in crazy styles, eat pizza, talk about guys, and tell ghost stories.

9. Go to festivals, carnivals, state, and county fairs. Are you craving cotton candy yet?

10. Go yard “sale-ing”. You never know what treasures you might find.
