Matthew 7:3 "And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?" (NKJV)

You know why you never see the plank in your on eye? Cuz you have to look in the mirror at yourself. You are afraid of self-examination. Afraid of what you will find out about yourself. But you know what? If you don't look in the mirror, you also will never see all the good things about yourself.

If you look at yourself, you will see both the good and the bad. Like a rose when you look at it. You see both the beauty and the thorns. I know it isn't an easy thing to do, to examine yourself like that. For me seeing the good is just as hard as the bad. But I know that to have a closer walk with God I have to see those things. Learn how to deal with those things. Learn how to accept the good things in yourself. I have more trouble with that than facing the bad stuff. The bad stuff just feeds the shaky self-esteem. The good stuff… well the shaky self-esteem just has a hard time accepting those parts.

So I challenge you today. Ask God to help you see the plank in your eye. But also ask Him to show you the good. Ask Him to show you how He sees you. Ask Him to help you to accept the good things and to be able to deal with the bad.
