Suggested scripture reading: Psalm 73: 21-28
THOUGHT FOR TODAY: “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26 (NIV)
My son, whom I affectionately call Tumble Bumble, had to get stitches less than two weeks after learning to walk. From then until he turned three his little forehead always had a bump, scrape or bruise. He fell and hit his head more often than my other two children combined. But, like most toddlers, he recovered quickly and was soon on his feet once again.
We can learn a lot from toddlers. Like Christians, they stumble and fall, some of them more often than others. But they are determined. They don’t let those little failures get them down for long. That’s how we need to be. It is in our nature to fail. But rather than letting our failures discourage us, they should make us even more determined to succeed.
PRAYER: Lord, help us not to get discouraged when we fail, as we all do now and then. But give us the strength to get back on our feet and continue following you.
