Have you ever found yourself in a situation that you knew you shouldn't be in? Maybe you and your boyfriend ended up parked somewhere after a dinner-and-a-movie date. Or maybe you went to a party at a friend's house only to find that not only were her parents not there, but they had provided beer for the partygoers.
Those are two examples from my own life. I wish I could tell you that I made good decisions every time I found myself in situations like that, but that was not always the case.
My pastor said something like this in his sermon not long ago: "Whenever you are NOT where you are supposed to be, doing what you are supposed to be doing, you get into trouble." It happened to King David when he committed adultery with Bathsheba. It can happen to anyone.
So what do you do? The best way for you to avoid that kind of trouble is to avoid putting yourself in those situations in the first place. No matter how strong a Christian you are, you are not exempt from temptation.
The next time you're out with your boyfriend, buying a new outfit, going to a party--stop and think. Don't make a choice that may put you--or someone you're with--in a potentially compromising situation.
Love in Christ,
Rebecca
