She was a broken woman
Who suffered many years of pain.
It seemed the storm clouds never broke
In her life of endless rain.
And then, she heard of Jesus,
Of his healing and his love.
Did she dare to seek him out,
This man sent from above?
One day, she came upon him.
He was moving through a crowd.
The masses swarmed around him.
In her heart she cried aloud:
"If I could only touch his garment,
With my whole heart I believe
His loving grace would reach me
All my pain would be relieved."
She struggled through the frenzy
To where the Son of God would be.
In faith she reach out to him
as she prayed her silent plea.
Her fingers grasped his garment
And she felt his healing power
Coursing through her heart and soul
Right from that very hour.
He turned and said, "Who touched me?"
Though the Lord knew very well
This hurting woman's faith was strong
When at his feet she fell.
"Go now in peace," he told her
As his hem fell from her clutch
And she left, a different woman
Changed by Jesus' healing touch.
Life Application:
There are times when people reach out to God with their hearts, without speaking a single word. Have you ever prayed a silent prayer? Sometimes, we don't know what to say. We only know that we need Jesus, just like the woman who touched his robe in this story. Remember that God hears the prayers that you pray in your heart as clearly as if you shouted them from the rooftops.
